It answers two things\n  at once: this company borrowed, and THIS is who lent. The secured party is\n  often the most useful field here, since it is a lending relationship already\n  in place before anyone pitches a competing one.\n\nIT COVERS TWO STATES OUT OF FIFTY\n  UCC-1s are filed with each Secretary of State, and only Colorado and\n  Connecticut publish data that can be queried. The rest are behind web forms\n  or bot walls.\n\n  So an empty answer means NO LIEN IN THOSE TWO STATES. It does not mean the\n  company is unencumbered, and for a company with no Colorado or Connecticut\n  presence it means nothing at all.\n\nREAD THE COVERAGE FIELD\n  Every answer carries one, naming what was searched and what failed.
