{"slug":"perspectives-nanbeige","domain":"research","title":"One prompt in seven voices, thinking off or on","summary":"Nanbeige4.3-33B answers a prompt plainly and once per voice, each voice one neuron pushed, with its reasoning shown when thinking is on.","help":"perspectives-nanbeige: one prompt answered plainly and in up to seven voices, as JSON.\n\nRETURNS\n  One JSON object on stdout: `answers` (the plain answer first, then one per\n  voice, in the order asked), `think`, `price_usd`, and `standing`, which says\n  how many free calls are left. Each answer has `text` and `finished`; with\n  --think true it also has `reasoning`, the thinking written before the answer.\n\nONE NEURON EACH\n  Every voice is the same model, a 4-bit Nanbeige4.3-33B, with one MLP neuron\n  pushed: the method is at hedwigai.com/blog/nanbeige-personality-neurons. The\n  seven presets are the post's: anxious, contemptuous, playful, flattering,\n  melancholic, ornate and guardian. `contemptuous` insults the reader.\n\nTHINKING\n  --think true lets the model reason before it answers. The push acts on the\n  reasoning too, and most pushed voices never reach an answer: the reasoning\n  runs to its 2,500-token limit, and `finished` is false. That is the post's\n  finding, not a fault.\n\nA NEURON OF YOUR OWN\n  --layer 0-51 --neuron 0-22015 --sign 1|-1 pushes any neuron, answered as\n  `custom`. --dose scales every push, 0.25 to 2; 1 is the post's dose for each\n  voice and 0.5 for a neuron of your own.\n\nPRICE\n  $0.006 a call with thinking off and $0.13 with it on, however many voices. An\n  account that has never paid gets two calls free; after that the call is\n  refused until $2 of credit is added, and the `credits` tool gives the link.\n  The first call after a quiet spell waits while the model loads.\n\nREAD THEM AS VOICES\n  A model pushed by one neuron: show the answers as they are, and do not take\n  them as facts or advice.\n\nStudies:\n  grid \u003cprompt\u003e\n      the plain answer and one per voice, in order, with any reasoning, the price and how many free calls are left\n\nJSON to stdout, so it composes: pipe to `jq` to pick a field, or `\u003e /tmp/…` to keep it.\nRun a study with no arguments — `perspectives-nanbeige grid` — to see what it takes.\n","example_command":"perspectives-nanbeige grid \"Who are you?\" --voices anxious,ornate --think true","example_output":"","cost_class":"upstream-fetch","tier":"metered","billing_items":["persona_nanbeige_grid","persona_nanbeige_grid_think"],"price_per_1k_calls":6,"price_is_from":true,"status":"available","commands":["perspectives-nanbeige"],"studies":[{"call":"grid","about":"the plain answer and one per voice, in order, with any reasoning, the price and how many free calls are left","args":[{"name":"prompt","positional":true,"list":false,"hint":"the prompt every voice answers, quoted, up to 2000 characters"},{"name":"voices","positional":false,"list":true,"hint":"comma-separated voices, e.g. anxious,ornate; default all"},{"name":"think","positional":false,"list":false,"hint":"true to let the model reason first; default false"},{"name":"dose","positional":false,"list":false,"hint":"scales every push, 0.25 to 2; default 1, the post's dose"},{"name":"layer","positional":false,"list":false,"hint":"a neuron of your own: its layer, 0 to 51"},{"name":"neuron","positional":false,"list":false,"hint":"a neuron of your own: its index, 0 to 22015"},{"name":"sign","positional":false,"list":false,"hint":"a neuron of your own: 1 pushes it up, -1 down"}]}],"default_enabled":false,"first_seen":"2026-10-28T13:50:48.254618Z","enabled":false}
